Dalu (w/Ti Fang) Workshop
|
Dear Tai Chi Friends,
Wu Wei School & The David Chen Memorial Fund are proud to offer a special Dalu workshop to benefit the Shr-Jung School in Taipei. Special thanks to Stephen J. Goodson and his non-profit Fair Trade Tai Chi, Inc. for donating their services. This is a special workshop to benefit the Professor Cheng Man-Ching’s museum in Taipei Taiwan. All the profits from this event will go to the building fund of Shr-Jung Tai Chi School in Taipei, Taiwan, founded by Professor Cheng Man-Ching. The school has purchased and is improving the house where Professor lived and taught, providing a small museum and classroom/practice space for visitors. We feel this is a very worthwhile project that benefits the greater Tai Chi community. We hope you will feel good knowing you are a part of it. 2/20-2/21/2016
Space is limited to 26 participants The 2 day workshop will be led by Stephen J. Goodson, a longtime student of Robert W. Smith, and the author of the new book: Concepts for Taiji Partner Training—Dalu: The Four-Corner Push-Hands Training Method. The workshop will examine the basic elements of the Dalu practice, including: its location in the Form, the solo Dalu Form, the two person Dalu Game, application, and Ti Fang—Tai Chi’s unique Fa Jing. Practical proofs will demonstrate how four ounces deflects a thousand pounds along with other concepts put forth in Cheng Man-Ching's "13 Treatises.” This workshop is designed to be fun and informative with lots of practice time and discussion. Mr. Goodson is a dynamic presentor, offering a fresh, new approach to classical material. To reserve your place in this workshop please email Joanne Chang at Joanne@wuweitaichi.com and send a check made out to: Wu Wei Tai Chi Studio

Thank you very much for the workshop on Sep 27th! It was a blast. I was impressed by how quickly you were able to teach all of us the concept of ti fang, and how, by the end of the day, all of us could replicate it.
